Starring Barkha Bisht in her first Bengali web series, Kamini is Hoichoi’s first horror-comedy series. Barkha plays the lead role of “Kamini” (mysterious woman). Samya and Arnab, who run a small private detective agency, reach Kamini’s village to decipher her mystery.

With the help of a local girl named Bijli, the two try to expose Kamini’s hidden truth and reveal the dark past. Later, Samya’s girlfriend, Sreemoyee too arrives at the village to help them. The series is both scary and funny at the same time.

3. Manbhanjan


Manbhanjan web series is an adaptation of a story of the same name by Nobel Laureate “Rabindranath Tagore.” Considered as one of his immortal creations, the series release date was announced on the 158th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.

The plot of the series revolves around a housewife, “Giribala,” who lives a lonely life in her in-law’s house. Married to “Gopinath,” the couple lives a happy and loving life when they get married. Gopinath soon starts to see a glamourous theatre actress, “Labanga” and escapes with her.  Loneliness and betrayal leads Giribala to leave the house, and she bravely decides to come out of the situation and empower herself.

The episode, “Lift” is a story of a journalist “Nandita,” who moves to a newly constructed high-rise building of the city. Wracked by Paranoia, she starts feeling uneasy and unsafe after liftman “Kartik” starts keeping an evil eye on her.
