Through this conference, we noticed that Twitter is now strengthening their content viewership in four key categories; which are gadgets, news, live performances, and sports.
YouTube is already popular with gadget reviews, news broadcasting and even broadcasted Coachella music festival live twice. But, when launching a product or breaking the news, Twitter is the first platform anyone would think off. Twitter is also popular with politicians, especially Donald Trump, who use this platform better than any other world leader in the United States.
An average Gadget YouTube Brands from India added 7,587,360 views in the last month.
Digital Content NewFronts 2017 Updates for Twitter –
Bloomberg – Twitter announced that Bloomberg would be the first content provider to join their new initiatives. Largely known for its reliable news and public polls, Bloomberg will launch a 24/7 live-streaming channel with content produced solely for the social platform.
VOX Media – Vox is one of the most trusted news and content media groups in U.S at present with an active YouTube channel with more than 2 million subscribers and 600 thousand plus followers on Twitter. As per Twitter executives, Vox Media will create a weekly live show dedicated to gadgets called Circuit Breaker.
BuzzFeed – Famous for the “Fake News” tag, BuzzFeed will create news, and current events show to be broadcast live on Twitter each morning.
MLB Advanced Media – The ratings of the ESPN’s flagship program, SportsCenter dipped because many had already seen the clip on Reddit and commented on Twitter. And this is what Twitter wants to leverage to the maximum level. This is the reason why MLBAM will produce a new 3-hour weekly MLB program featuring game “look-ins” and highlights for Twitter.
Live Nation – Do you know that 7 out of 10 of the most followed Twitter users are musicians? Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake have more than 50 million followers on Twitter. (Click here to check video content creator rankings across platforms & genres).
Live Nation, on the other hand, is an American global entertainment company that owns, leases, and operates with almost every live concert under in U.S and abroad. At 2017 NewFronts, Twitter announced that they are partnering with Live Nation to exclusively Livestream video concerts.
“Music has always been one of the most Tweeted about topics on the platform, and now fans around the world will be able to experience concerts live on the same platform where they talk about what’s happening in music,” says Twitter COO Anthony Noto.
The first live streaming concert show will start from May 13, with Zac Brown Band’s performance; and Train, Portugal The Man, August Alsina, and Marian Hill in future.
