Above categorization is still available in our YouTube Creator studio, but with the new update announced on the YouTube Help Form, not everyone will able to access it.
Here is the complete breakdown of what is going to change with the new YouTube Creator Studio.
- From now on, YouTube will not feature demographics data by YouTube products
(YouTube, YouTube Kids, YouTube Gaming) and you cannot use these filters in the translation report. A translation report documents the performance of videos that are translated from other languages.
- No more demographics data for private or unlisted videos.
- For advertisers, if your video is an ad used for any form of advertising, then you still get demographic data in the AdWords for Video reports.
- No Demographic reports for YouTube channel with less viewership. Yes, if you just started your YouTube channel, then you will not get the demographic report for your public videos. As per the YouTube Help Form, if you gained more viewership by time, then you will have the YouTube demographics reports feature under your analytics section.
Also, there is no clarification on how much viewership is enough to be eligible to get your own demographics report.
YouTube has already launched the beta version of their new “Creator Studio” where one can notice the lack of many old features. In order to access those old features like the Demographic report, geographical reports etc., YouTube will redirect you to the older version of their creator studio.
As per YouTube, this sudden change is aimed to protect the privacy of the viewers. With the new Facebook/ Cambridge Analytica debacle, many social media platforms are making sure that the privacy of their users as their top priority. Recently, YouTube embarked to take down thousands of videos and YouTube channels related to gun violence, sex, violence, fake news, and terrorist’s propaganda channels.
