Google’s entertaining sister YouTube, has also got some Easter Eggs or cool hidden treasures for its users just like Google. But funnier and not so easy to find. Although, some Easter eggs don’t work anymore like the Snake Game, where you just click the left button on your keyboard while your video’s buffering, and the game starts. But what you can enjoy, are these 18 fun hidden YouTube Easter eggs. Try them out on your computer, they are worth the distraction.
1. “Doge Meme”
When you type “doge meme” in the YouTube search box and hit enter, you can see the entire page’s text appearing in multicoloured Comic Sans font. Such Wow, Many cool, much colour, check must.
2. “Beam Me Up, Scotty”
Putting “beam me up scotty” in the search box will give your youtubes the classic Star Trek by beaming the videos on your result page.
3. “Pow”erpuff your video with Comic book mode
Add “&pow=1&nohtml5=1’ at the end of a video URL that you are currently watching. You can see a small “pow” button to the video features, Click that and your video will appear comic book-ish. If you wish to watch your video in the normal mode, just click on the “pow” button again. FYI- It doesn’t work on Claimed Videos.

4. Get the Geek Week Retro Look
Type ‘/geek week’ in the search bar and it will turn your results page in a glorious retro ASCII format. This is one of the cool easter eggs YouTube released in honour of its first annual Geek Week (a week long event dedicated to highlighting geek culture).
5. Play Missile Command with “1980”
Something like the cool Dinosaur Game (Play it by pressing spacebar when offline). You can unlock the Missile Control Game by typing “1980” anywhere on the page, not as a comment, or in the search bar, just on the page.
Same as 1980, when you type “1337” on a video page, it will make your comments appear in ‘1337 (LEET) Speak’. Check it out.
Putting “Fibonacci” in the YT search bar will arrange your results in a tiled effect like a Fibonacci Mathematical sequence trick.
8. “Use the Force Luke”
Searching for “use the force luke” will give a wavy effect to the results and you can move the videos around the screen with the force… of your mouse.
9. ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’ Trick
Search “ponies” or “bronies” and cute little ponies will fly across your screen for a few seconds. And if you search the names of characters from the show like “Rainbow Dash”, the top bar will appear in the character’s colour.
10. “Do the Harlem Shake”
Do it. But on YouTube Search. And you see the video results jumping to the Harlem shake. Type “do the Harlem shake”, hit enter, and the song will play in the background while your videos shake. You can pause and play the song, and you can also see video doing Harlem Shake in sync with the beats.
Add “/robots.txt” after YouTube URL like this- “https://www.youtube.com/robots.txt” and watch YouTube troll you, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines style.
12. Lean back mode
If your mouse isn’t working, or you want to binge-watch YT videos/movies, just got this URL www.youtube.com/leanback and use YouTube with some Keyboard shortcuts.
Typing “&wadsworth=1” at the end of a video URL will make it skip the first 30% of a video. It’s an homage to the Wadsworth Constant, a meme that spun out of control when a Reddit user (with the username Wadsworth) said the first 30% of any video isn’t worth watching.14. Loop a YouTube Video

If you feel like singing along your new favourite song, or repeating any video, just right-click on the video and select “Loop” and watch your video over and over without hitting replay.
15. Stats for Nerds
This easter egg is a little complicated. You have to right-click on a video, and choose the option “Stats for Nerds.” It will give you a rundown of statistics of the video you’re watching, including dimensions, frames and volume percentage. (Look at above picture)
16. “Webdriver Torso”
Here’s another cool Easter egg, Type “web driver torso” in the search, hit enter, and your YouTube page background will turn red and blue. Some videos will have red , some will have blue.
17. Quiet down your YouTube
Get rid of the clutter and watch your videos in peace. Put Quietube in your browser’s bookmarks and then click the bookmark button when you’re watching a video. This will give you a plain white or plain black background to view videos on, where there are no distractions. Like the comments or recommended videos column. Firefox users can also use YouTube Smart Pause to automatically pause the video you’re watching when you switch tabs. There’s something for Chrome users too, Floating YouTube – an extension which plays your video in a separate moveable window, allowing you to theoretically work at the same time.

Put a video in fullscreen(computer only) and type “awesome” Just do it! The red time bar well turn into a flashy rainbow! Mindblown!
