  • Rain rain go away!! Today we had rain pouring down sideways, lightning, and tornado watches. While it was pouring we pulled together and got food prep finished early. We got rainy day projects done as well. Steven Becker made some supplement capsules so we are ready for next week. Vanessa Ply, Mary Jerome, Tanya Chute, and Mazz organized and deep cleaned food prep. Dylan Lavigne and Susanna organized the tool shed. Candy Couser organized the Vox systems. We did so many projects I am sure I left some out. Even though the day started off rainy and gray we had a great day and got a lot done. All the cats ate well and were frisky too! - Jennifer Ruszczyk‎

It was a beautiful day today! Lots of volunteers. Everyone worked very hard taking care of our cats. Thanks to Alyssa, with Dylans help, for getting food prep all done by lunch. Alyssa went through the feeding buckets and found 6 for Keisha. She reorganized and we now have 1 AM, 1 PM and 1 extra for Cameron, yellow buckets. Keishas buckets are green. Andre's buckets are purple and Hoovers buckets are orange.

All of the picky cats ate very good today. Cameron loved lamb! - Sue Messineo

  • Apollo the Siberian Lynx was rescued in 1997, with his brother zeus, from a Canadian fur farm. To our knowledge, there are no fur farms anymore in the U.S that still raise cats for their fur, but it is common practice in other countries. 50 million animals a year are raised and killed for the fur trade.

This looks AMAZING if you wear Oculus Go, HTC Vive, Rift, Cardboard or any other sort of HMD. Get our inexpensive headset and support the cats at the same time at BigCatRescue.org/VR

You can donate to the cats at NO COST TO YOU when you select BCR as your charity on Amazon Smile and shop Smile.Amazon.com instead of Amazon.com. It is exactly the same as regular Amazon EXCEPT when you use the Smile URL Amazon donates .5% of your purchase to BCR. It's added up to over $89,000 for the cats!

Please visit BigCatRescue.org/amazon-smile for how to sign up and let us know you did so we can thank you. :)

Great day today!!

The picky cats did ok, except for Hoover who did AMAZING!! He has been very hungry the past couple of days.

Tanya knocked out food prep again. She is a food prep rock star!!

Steph and I did a good wipe down in the Windsong hospital, and we fully cleaned the recovery hospital as well. The only thing left over to do is clean the hospital cages on the cleaning slab.

Bonnie and Bridget raked around Priya and the part of the cubs enclosure closest to Priya.

Mazz, Susana, and myself unloaded a truck and trailer full of Christmas trees for the big cats. They smell soooooo good! - Afton Tasler

It started out cold today, making all of cats very frisky, and warmed up to a really nice day today!

We had lots of help for feeding and cleaning today. Because of that our very few interns were able to work on projects!
Quick note that the vultures are now able to open Tupperwares, so keep an eye on your feeding carts.

Des' enclosure was raked and his lockout was painted and dirted. The outside was also raked. Thanks to our interns for getting it done and to Candy Couser for staying to help finish!

Armani's enclosure got a quick rake and grass seed.

The Windsong memorial hospital was vacuumed and mopped. The recovery hospital needs to be cleaned still.
Des finally got to go home and the end of the day! Thanks everyone! - Lauren Grant

I’m at Sanders Memorial Elementary this afternoon in Land O’ Lakes presenting to their students for the Great American Teach-In. (For some reason they hold theirs in December.) All in all, I’ll be speaking to 240 students about BCR, our cats, our work, and how they can help protect big cats!

Pam, you’ll be happy to know that I brought hundreds of Big Cat Times with me 😊 - Jennifer Leon

  • Happy CATurday !

  • Turn down your speakers because the mic is up over the top of the 8 foot wall and picking up all the traffic noise.

  • Meet Nikita Lioness in the glow of sunrise at Big Cat Rescue

  • Des Serval goes home after grooming and then we check in on Caracals, Tigers and Lions with Big Cat Devin doing evening meds and snacks.

  • It was a very cold day today and we had just enough volunteers to get everything done.

The cicle cats all got their cicles thanks to Marie Schoubert, Desmond. Fowles , and Susan Reed

All of the picky cats ate very well today.

-Keisha is still liking to eat mush, even off the ground... crazy.

-Frosty is liking red,chk thighs, and pork.

Dylan Lavigne spray painted Des's lockout so it looks nice for him when he returns home.

Armani was moved out to funcation for vacation time

I filled in a small hole by Seth's enclosure so no one will trip.

That's all for today!

-Devin Saari
