Via @crossfittraining ・・・ 🎙 @mattevs7: “@smeenagh89 mentioned that before attending the #CFL1 seminar he’d hoped to get his #firstmuscleup. I watched him during the progressions avidly listening and trying to apply what @oakleywoodhouse was teaching. Then when she asked who would like to make an attempt on the high rings there was silence. It’s seemed no one wanted to risk failing in front of the group. Not @smeenagh89. Up he stepped and NAILED IT. I was so stoked to capture the moment for him. After his dismount I’m sure he kissed his biceps but the camera didn’t catch it 🤣. True privilege to meet you @smeenagh89 and I am looking forward to watching you destroy the field in the upcoming World Para Nordic Skiing Championships. - “At the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games Scott Meenagh became the first competitor ParalympicsGB has had in #NordicSkiing for 20 years and the first ever GB Para Nordic sit skier. - “In 2014, after his appointment as Invictus Games Captain of the British Armed Forces Rowing Team, Scott was invited to train full-time with the GB Paralympic Rowing team, narrowly missing out on selection to the Rio Games. Meenagh then turned his attention to Nordic Skiing and competed in his first winter event towards the close of 2016. He qualified for the 2018 Winter Paralympic Games and went on to compete in 6 different races in eight days - one of only 3 GB athletes to ever do that. - “Scott has a proud military background. Meenagh is one of the few graduates to make the elite 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment, renowned as one of the toughest military training programs in the world. In 2011, Scott was serving in Helmand province of Afghanistan when he stepped on an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) and lost both his legs - “Inspired by sport, driven by the memory of lost colleagues, the immeasurable support from the staff at DMRC Headley Court and the Help for Heroes Sports Recovery program, Scott learned to walk again on prosthetic legs and has participated in a host of awe inspiring challenges; hand cycling 350 mi. across battlefields in France, winning medals at the renowned Warrior Games and climbing Ben Nevis. Oh and he can now do #muscleups 😎🤙”
